What to bring

Morocco is a Muslim country, so standards of acceptable dress, for men and women are somewhat more restrained than you may be used to! So that you do not feel uncomfortable, and cause offence, it is advised that women and girls cover their legs and avoid wearing strappy tops, and revealing clothing. Even men wearing short shorts may feel uncomfortable, so it is best to wear longer-length shorts. Also, the Kasbah du Toubkal is at 1800m, so whilst we are in Morocco, we can experience quite variable weather conditions at any time of the year! Essential items include:

  • Sleeping bag (for use at the Kasbah)
  • Waterproofs (ideally jacket and trousers)
  • Warm jacket (eg. fleece-type)
  • Hat and gloves (in Spring and Autumn)
  • Warm clothing—lots of layers (in Spring and Autumn)
  • Cool summer clothing—longer sleeves for women and girls
  • Sunhat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Small personal first-aid kit including diarrhoea-relief medication
  • Torch
