The Eagle’s Nest staff

Dave and Sam JacksonThe Eagle’s Nest is managed by Dave and Sam Jackson, with between them over 30 years experience in field studies.

Dave Jackson is the Centre Manager, and has a Joint Honours degree in Geography and History, and is a qualified Secondary Geography teacher. He is responsible for the day to day management of the centre, and has oft been seen cooking, de-blocking loos, and teaching a brilliant session on fluvial change.

Sam Jackson is the Director of Studies, and will be your principal contact for the academic content of your course. Sam is a qualified Secondary Science Teacher, specialising in biology, and holds a BSc (Hons) in Zoology, and an MSc in Ecology and Environmental Management.

Each year we employ a number of group leaders, all of whom receive full training before working with any group. These are supported by our domestic staff team, many of whom return to the Nest for a number of years.

Mike and Gilly McHugo and family still live on site. Gilly is increasingly involved in the local community and teaches at the school in Le Pont de Montvert. Mike’s time is mainly spent on the company’s growing Moroccan projects.

Sam and Dave and the Eagle’s Nest staff team very much look forward to welcoming you to the Cévennes, and to sharing some of their love of this amazing part of France with you.
